Y12SR at Breathe Yoga Tucson
Y12SR combines the practical tools of the 12-step program with the ancient wisdom of yoga.
This 90 minute session includes a 12-step-based discussion and gently yoga practice open to anyone and everyone dealing with their own addictive behavior or affected by the addictive behavior of others. This is an open and inclusive group. All A’s are welcome. This is not a substitute for 12-step but might be a useful practice for you.
Wear comfortable clothing. Meetings are by donation. No reservation required.
Please arrive at least 5 minutes early. Doors will be locked at 2 PM.
Bring your yoga mat if you have one.

Ellen Shapiro is a Yoga teacher (RYT-500) and a Medical Software Analyst living in Tucson most of the year. She is currently completing the Kripalu Integrative Yoga Therapy program. She teaches gentle hatha yoga for individual and groups including at a women’s homeless shelter and an addictions treatment center. Ellen has completed several yoga training programs including Yoga of 12- Step Recovery with Nikki Myers, iRest Yoga Nidra L1 with Richard Miller, Yoga for Anxiety and Depression L1 with Amy Weintraub, and Functional Yoga Therapy with Maria Mendola. Ellen is a grateful member of a 12-step fellowship and has been clean and sober for 31 years.
